The bird underneath is a robin
Mike the house finch is my favortie, lovely photo
Mike you have a good eye and really good composition - but something is not right with the photos on the website - is it excess sharpening, or is it not a big enough file size - the pics look blocky and pixellated and halos appear around edges - I can see this even around your signature so it must be being applied to the picture as a whole rather than a result of your camera/lens - perhaps this is excessive jpeg compression to keep the file size down - I wouldn't mind seeing some original jpegs or uncompressed
Thanks fors the comments anonymous. I've noticed that myself among the JAlbum images. I really need to go back and sort them out. I like JAlbum, makes it nice and easy. I'll ask my mate Tim out in Vancouver he uses it too.
There are some I took on Sunday here for comparison > http://www.mike-dale.com/New/New.htm

ah that's much better Mike - no comparision to the jalbum pics - these are lovely and sharp, great contrast, saturation a touch too high for my taste on some colours (1 tone red on the woodys) but otherwise pretty first class !
When I get time I intend to sort out my pictures on the website. I'm playing mostly with Nikon Capture NX these days with a bit of Photoshop CS2 to add the frames and do any cloning necessary such as multiple flash highlights in the eyes.
What part of the world are you in anonymous?
The robin is lovely. I know Santa's favorite color is red but enough is enough. He sneaks it into the background of every one of your pictures lately.
I'm from UK Mike
that 5.59 comment isn't mine by the way

Guess this is why signing up for a blogger/google account or at least adding a name to posts is the way to go...
